You Don't Have to Face Grief & Loss Alone

Taking the first step toward getting help is one of the bravest things you can do. Our compassionate team is here to walk alongside you with expertise, patience, and genuine care.

Understanding Your Experience

What Is Grief & Loss?

Grief is not something you 'get over' — it is something you learn to carry. Whether you have lost a person, a relationship, a career, your health, or a future you had imagined for yourself, grief touches every part of you. Some days it might feel like a dull ache in the background. Other days, it hits like a wave that knocks the breath out of you when you least expect it. You might feel pressure — from yourself or from others — to move on, to be strong, or to find a silver lining. But grief does not work on a schedule, and there is no right way to grieve. What you need is space to feel whatever you are feeling without judgment, and someone to sit with you in the hard parts without trying to rush you through them. That is what grief therapy provides.

Recognizing the Signs

Common Signs & Symptoms

You might recognize some of these experiences in yourself. Every person is different, and you do not need to relate to every item on this list to benefit from support.

  • Waves of deep sadness or emotional overwhelm that come without warning
  • Emotional numbness or a sense of going through the motions without really being present
  • Difficulty accepting that the loss is real — a persistent sense of disbelief
  • Intense anger, guilt, or regret about things said or unsaid, done or undone
  • Physical symptoms — fatigue that sleep does not fix, appetite changes, headaches, or chest tightness
  • Pulling away from friends, family, and social situations that feel too hard
  • Difficulty finding meaning, purpose, or motivation in your daily life
  • Feeling like a part of you is missing or that your identity has changed

The Path Forward

How Therapy Helps

Grief therapy gives you a compassionate, unhurried space where every feeling is welcome — sadness, anger, relief, guilt, love, and everything in between. Your therapist will not tell you how to grieve or try to fix your pain. Instead, they will sit with you in it, help you make sense of what you are experiencing, and support you as you gradually find your way forward. Therapy can help you process complicated emotions, honor what you have lost, and eventually — at your own pace — discover new sources of meaning and connection without feeling like you are leaving your loss behind.

Evidence-Based Care

Our Treatment Approach

Our approach to grief is deeply personal and adapts to what you need. Grief Counseling provides foundational support for processing loss. Narrative Therapy helps you tell your story and find meaning within it. Meaning-Making Therapy supports the process of integrating loss into your life in a way that honors both what was and what comes next. For complicated or traumatic grief, EMDR can help process the distressing aspects of the loss. We also draw on Attachment Theory to understand how your particular relationship with what you have lost shapes your grieving process. There is no formula — just thoughtful, compassionate care.
